Internship-Programs

Firmen in den USA bieten jedes Jahr die Möglichkeit ein Auslandspraktikum zu absolvieren. Diese Programme erlauben den Studenten Erfahrungen in der Praxis zu sammeln.

Der Vorteil bei diesen Programmen ist, daß Dein Auslandspraktikum in der Regel bezahlt ist und für die Unterbringung gesorgt wird.

Ford Motor Company

1. What does the company do?

Second largest producer of automotive products and services.

2. Hardware or software environment?

Vehicle Systems: both hardware and embedded software. IT Application Dev: mainly software. 

3. Skills sets/classes/experience

CS and/or EE students with upper division classes.

4. Freshmen OK?

No.

5. Foreign students OK?

Must have a permission to work in the US.

6. Location of job?

Dearborn, MI

7. How are assignments made?

Position details discussed with intern before start date, allowing for flexibility to match student and company.

8. Examples of jobs

Vehicle Systems: work on the next generation collision avoidance system, develop controllers for vehicle electronics control, CAE for vehicle electronics design.

Vehicle Components: embedded software development for voice recognition systems, engine controls, etc.

IT Applications: software applications for manufacturing control, software applications for computer infrastructure support.
